Declan's Class Photo

Yes, it took me some time to scan this and yes, its been sitting on a shelf for a couple weeks waiting for me to get to it. Except for Declan (of course) and a small handful of others clearly kids at this age have started to lose their cuteness!!!

Fundraiser

This past Saturday we organized a hot dog sale to raise money to pay for a tournament entry fee. I'm taking Darby's lacrosse team to Victoria this coming weekend. Marla booked the event at Quality Foods for us and a number of parents and players showed up to help. The boys walked up and down the sidewalk with signs and that is why you don't see them in this photo - they were not allowed near the BBQ. We raised $329.84!

It wasn't a terribly busy day to be honest and we were hoping to raise more money. It was overcast and cold at times/ I think it being the Saturday of the long weekend didn't help.

Declan's game

I arrived at the game for the last inning. What's great about baseball at this age croup is the kids are attentive to the game.

Declan's friend Ben was the pitcher for the other team.

Ball!

Strike! It was the only strike. Declan was walked.

Ella @ T-Ball

Well, it was busy Wednesday! After school Ella had swimming.  I squeezed in a McDonald's dinner.  Picked up Thien at the complex, drove Thein and Declan to their baseball game, drove Ella to T-ball, went and picked up Marcus while stopping at home to pick up Declan's forgotten baseball cap. Drove Marcus and Darby to lacrosse.  Filled out the game sheet and passed coaching duties onto assistants.  Went back to Declan's game to drop off his hat.  Got to go back and watch some of Ella's T-ball for the first time this year (it always seems to conflict with lacrosse).  After T-ball went to pick up Thien and Declan getting to see the last inning of their game - Thien had the tying RBI - the game ended in a tie.  Went back to the complex to pick up Darby and Brett.  Brought Brett home and then went home myself and made the kids read in the rooms while I finally got to chill and watch the crazy last period of the Canucks game!!!

Note:  Ella played at Larry Guthro Park while Declan was playing in Cranberry.

A hit! (why is there no T? - I don't know)

And she's off to first...

What is Ella doing on second base?

GOOFING OFF!

Clearly Ella's baseball shirt is too big.

Our new pets

We have new fish ! in our new aquarium

This is Declan's. Its a Bala Shark. I think he named him Mario. His plan was to have Darby name his fish Bowser and Ella's Peach. No surprise. Ella and Darby had different plans

Darby;s fish is a Blind Cave Tetra. It has no eyes. Its fast and bumps into everything. Darby called him Bumpy

Ella's is a Balloon Molly. She named it Flower.

In the months to come we will add to the aquarium gradually.

Darby in Gibsons

I will post pictures of Darby playing goalie in Gibsons shortly.  This note is only to remind myself to do it!

Since its mother's day, I am helping the kids make a dinner for Marla tonight - Marla works today!.  Lemon garlic roast chicken, roast potatoes (regular, sweet and yam), green salad.  I am letting the boys cut the potatoes and veggies but I am unsure what to get Ella to do yet - she already helped me make a lemon poppy seed loaf today so that may be it.  I don't think I will let any of them touch the chicken (maybe I'll Darby stuff it with the lemons and garlic).

Its been hellish.

Darby and Ella have not been to school yet this week.  I took them to the Doctor yesterday and the verdict was that they have a virus but are presenting differently.

Ella only started keeping food down last night and her previous meal was Saturday dinner.  She would throw up everything - even water.  I had to take her to the hospital yesterday to get hydrated.  They gave her a wafer that they give to chemotherapy patients that allowed her to eat.  She kept food down but now she has the shits!  I think she'll go to school tomorrow if things clear up a bit today.

Darby has been suffering crazy headaches that apparently make it painful for him to move.  Yesterday morning he woke up with a wicked rash.  I have pictures but I think them inappropriate to post. Darby was instructed not to return to school until his rash is gone - its no better today - though he is at least in good spirits - actually, he's hyper.

Anyway, that's why there hasn't been too many posts lately.

I have had a hard time sleeping!!!

Sick Day

No fun...Ella keeps vomiting.  Darby keeps getting severe headaches and stomach pains.  Today just sucks.
It started yesterday...Darby was not well and pretty much put a halt to any plans for leaving the house.   We did manage to go the farmer's market yesterday but that sucked - there was hardly anything there.  What a sucky weekend.   What really and truly sucks is that its a beautiful day outside!!!
