Sorry

I missed a couple days but it was only because they were really busy and work hasn't gone so well as of late.  Thursday the kids were busy after school with the boys going to Catechism class followed by Darby's lacrosse and Declan's baseball.  Yesterday, Declan got a call to play for another baseball team - it was very last minute but it was fun nonetheless.  I let Darby and Ella snap so pictures.  I don't know who took the following though - a mix of me, Ella and Darby.

I know I took this one - Declan's first at bat he hit a double!!!

Ella is gay

Something was obviously being said on the playground today.  Ella keeps going on about how she is gay.  "I am gay, I am happy, la la la la la"  is a little song she keeps repeating.  It was funny at first but I've grown very tired and annoyed with it!

Crazy Tuesday

Well it was our first conflict day on Tuesday.  Declan had baseball and Darby had lacrosse.  I took Darby to lacrosse and Marla took Declan (and Thien) to baseball.   Lacrosse is going well; I'm the coach.  Looks like we're heading to Sechelt May 7th for a game and to Victoria May 27-29 for a tournament.  Darby seems to love it and gets along with his teammates well - the team listens really well.   I was worried about Darby not liking the physical part of the game but he giggles through it still.

Declan got his uniform (below).  I forgot to send him with his new cleats and his jock strap!  He was given a schedule too, as well we got Ella's T-ball schedule in an email - there are going to be plenty of conflict days this spring - plenty!

Darby, Darby, Darby

Darby was apparently causing problems with his brother this morning.  Declan came down to my place for a visit with Thein and stayed for an hour  just to get away :)

Later on a ball game erupted in my backyard.  They only hit the house a few times and I made sure to do my grumpy old man routine.  I'd have taken a picture but I haven't done a spring cleanup in my backyard yet so it would have been embarassing - next sunny weekend and it will get done now that I have a working lawnmower.

Rio is coming to town;  I'm hoping to take the kids to that - anyone see it already?

I won $20 on LottoMax on a ticket my mother bought me.  Always tempted to let it ride, I instead decided to do an irresponsible thing and bought 2000 Nintendo points! My mother had bought the boys point cards for Easter so I had been in a jealous mood.   In any case, I know the boys will enjoy my choices and I have extra points leftover for them to split as they wish.   I went with one Virtual Console game and one WiiWare game.  I got Sonic & Knuckles which unlocks an extra character for the other Sonic Virtual Console games we have.  Virtual Console is such an awesome feature as there are 30 years of video games waiting for me to become acquainted; the last console I had was a Coleco Vision circa 1982.   I also got  Mega Man 10 on WiiWare - retro goodness which I know Declan will shun but Darby will love.

Chalk

It was a really nice day. I think the best so far this year. Again, my mother had gotten Ella a gift: a box of chalk. Everyone had fun with it. Not sure what Declan is doing here?
They certainly like having their picture taken sometimes
Darby needs smiling lessons.
Here we just Marla coming up the street; she just got off work.

Declan on Good Friday morning

Declan didn't get up with his siblings which is nothing new. Typically on a school day Darby is up first followed by Ella. I generally have to poke my head and say their names and they are up. Declan I have to tap and, on occasion, give a little shoulder shake before he wakes.
My mother had gotten Declan a couple magic tricks. One being a very cool trick card deck that multiple tricks could be performed with. I'm going to film him next week and post him performing his trips online.

For whatever reason Declan decided to make a chocolate and candy tower.

Does Declan have bed head? No.  Why is Darby pointing at his head?  I don't recall.

Ella on Good Friday morning

Since Gramma is leaving today to go back to Ottawa we had a Easter morning on Friday. Here are pics of Ella getting into her treats.

Risk

We just finished playing the shortest game of Risk ever!  Declan won in about 30 minutes!  I really don't know how it happened - I am in awe.

I'm thinking trick dice.

Another Busy Evening

So much seemed to happen after school today that I forgot to take the boys to PREP class (Catholic Catechism).  I have never done that before.  Part of the problem was that my hot water tank has to be replaced so I got one today and made arrangements for it be installed on Monday.  I hope the leaks remains a slow trickle until then!!!!

Gramma bought Declan his first pair of cleats!  Ella got chalk which Misha and her immediately used to colour the street.

Darby, Declan, Thein, Gramma and I went hunting. Thein showed us all how it is done.

Darby loves lacrosse.  I did a checking drill called "The Gauntlet".  Basically a player with the ball has to make it thru the entire team without dropping it.  The kids really lay into each other.  Mothers cringe.  You'd think kids would hate being creamed repeatedly but Darby loved it so much that he was laughing the entire time.  When Darby last played lacrosse he did not love it - I'm so happy.    I'm hoping to take the team to Victoria like last year - it was a hoot.

Wow Wednesday

It was crazy busy after school.  Darby had to try on all his lacrosse gear.  We had to mold a mouth guard and lately its really challenging to have Darby shut up for the necessary 30 s it takes to set it in his mouth.  Ella had swimming - Gramma elected to take Ella.  My mom didn't know that I had asked Marla to drop off a bathing suit so she had bought Ella a new one which she wore today.  I stayed and fed Darby who had lacrosse practice at 5:30 but because it was the first practice and I am the coach I had to be there early to get the sweaters.  Brett and Garret from his class are on the team.   My mother brought Declan to his baseball practice at 6:30 then double backed to pick Darby and I up from lacrosse at 7pm.  Baseball was finally over at 8pm and I was eager to get home to relax!  Declan will be on Thein's team which has made him really happy.  Kaden is also on the team who was Declan's good buddy on team Rona (hockey).

Yes, homework got done.  Declan did not practice his guitar though.

Sorry, no pictures.
